Guitar

It’s no surprise that one of the most popular instruments for beginning musicians is the guitar. That’s because it’s fun to jam by yourself or with a group of friends. Not to mention with practice and dedication students can quickly play songs within one to two lessons.

Guitar instructors at Scottsdale Music Academy teach both electric guitar and acoustic guitar. As always, we play the music you want to play! We have teachers that specialize in a variety of genres including – heavy metal, rock, classic, blues, jazz, country and more!

Our guitar lessons are catered to the student – we teach the fundamentals of guitar while using the music you want to play. In addition learning the basics, our instructors provide coaching on technique, style and stage-performance – feedback you won’t receive online lessons.

Bass

What would a band be without the bass? The bass guitar gives us that low rumble that anchors the music while laying the beat down.

Our bass students quickly realize that the bass guitar is not a difficult instrument to learn. After a few weeks of lessons, bass students are comfortably playing riffs. And it doesn’t take long for bass students to be playing full songs.

As our bass students progress we look to place them into SMA bands to ensure they continue to improve their skill.

Drums

The drummer is the backbone of any band. Keeping the beat and adding the explanation mark to the end of the song… the performance start and stop with the drummer!

One of the most popular instruments at Scottsdale Music Academy is the drums. That’s because it’s a fun instrument to play and students are playing songs within a few lessons.

Whether you are a beginning student or having been playing the drums for years, we have drum instructors for your experience level.

While playing the music you want to play, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the drums, how to play, the best posture, how to hold the sticks, count beat and more.

Vocals

Taking professional vocal lessons is one of the best ways to increase your confidence in all aspects of music performance.

Proper vocal training is a critical for anyone interested in music as a career. That’s because singing is much more complex that it seems. Your vocal coach will identify areas of improvement including – memorization, pitch, tone, musicality, sight-reading and stage performance.

During your voice lessons, you will learn how to warm up, extend your range and strengthen you vocal cords just like professional singers. You will work on specific songs in order to perfect your singing, and most students will hear improvement in just a couple weeks.

“Old habits are hard to break.” This saying is never truer than when it comes to signing. A vocal coach will help you avoid developing habits that will impede your music progress.

Keys

At Scottsdale Music Academy we believe every musician should be familiar with the keyboard. Learning to play the keyboard only further supports any musician’s overall skill set.

Keyboard students learn keys, chords, harmonies, how to read music and musicianship.

As with all of our lessons, instruction is giving while playing the music you want to play.
